HMS Galatea (1934)

The seventh HMS Galatea of the Royal Navy was an Arethusa-class light cruiser, launched on August 9, 1934 at Scotts shipyard in Greenock, Scotland.

She was sunk by a German submarine, U-557 on December 15, 1941 near Alexandria in the Mediterranean Sea with the loss of 470 lives.
