Halo: The Flood

Halo: The Flood is a 2003 novel based on the video game Halo: Combat Evolved (2001). It is largely an adaptation of the game's story by William C. Dietz . Although the book largely follows the same events of the Xbox game, it also describes the events of the other human UNSC marines struggling to survive The Covenant's onslaught on Halo against the Covenant and the parasitic Flood as well as the experiences of the Covenant armada that followed the Pillar of Autumn. It details how Captain Jacob Keyes was captured by the Covenant and taken to the Truth & Reconciliation. It gives a little subplot from the Covenant's point of view, such as how an Elite named Zuka Zamamee and a Grunt named Yayap are tasked to hunt down the Master Chief. The story is continued by the novel Halo: First Strike.
