Harold Bishop

Harold Bishop is a popular character from the Australian television soap opera Neighbours, played by Ian Smith . He played the part from 1986 until he was washed away from a beach in 1992. Thought to be dead, he was spotted by Helen Daniels in 1996, he returned to the show and has been in Neighbours ever since. Harold had lost his memory during the years of his absence and had been living as a Salvation Army volunteer by the name of Ted. The amount of time spent on Neighbours makes him one of the longest serving characters on the show.

His on screen wife, Madge Bishop , whom he had first married in 1988, died in 2001 from pancreatic cancer. Since then his son (David ) from his first marriage has returned, bringing his wife and child. Harold's other granddaughter, Sky Mangel has returned too.

Harold had a minor stroke, which changed his personality and changed many of the things in his life. He stopped attending the Salvation Army and as well as eating meat and consuming alcohol, he also became more sexually driven.
