Harry Strom
Harry Edwin Strom (July 7, 1914 - October 2, 1984), Canadian politician, was Premier of Alberta between 1968 and 1971. He had previously served as Ernest C. Manning's Minister of Agriculture from 1962 to 1967, having been first elected to the Alberta legislature in the 1955 provincial election.
Like his predecessors, Manning and William Aberhart, Strom was an evangelical Christian and social conservative.
Strom was the last Social Credit Premier of Alberta. The party was defeated by the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party of Peter Lougheed in the 1971 provincial election. Strom remained as Leader of the Opposition until 1973, and retired from politics in 1975.
