Hason Raja
Hason Raja (Hason the king), was a famous poet and songwriter in the 19th century Bengal, now Bangladesh. Born in a traditional Zamindar or landlord family in Sylhet, Hason indulged himself in material pursuits in his youth. Later he realized the meaningless of worldly pleasures and wrote some of the most thoughtful songs touching the deepest emotions of the human mind.
His songs are in the folk tradition of Bengal that seeks the ultimate truth beyond the material world.
