Hemerocallidaceae are a family of flowering plants. The Hemerocallidaceae are monocots, and are part of order Asparagales. The Hemerocallidaceae are closely related to two other families of Asparagales, Xanthorrhoeaceae and Asphodelaceae, and the three familes are alternately grouped together as a single family (Xanthorrhoeaceae). The family includes two popular genera of garden plants, the daylilies (Hemerocallis) and New Zealand flax (Phormium).
