Henry Wise

Henry Wise (1653 - 1738) was an English gardener and landscape architect apprenticed to George London at Brompton Nursery . The two later worked as partners on Hampton Court, Chelsea Hospital, Longleat, Chatsworth, Melbourne Hall , Wimpole Hall and Castle Howard, drawing inspiration from contemporaries in France and the Netherlands.
Queen Anne of Great Britain and King George I both appointed him to the post of Royal Gardener .
