Hero and Leander (poem)

Hero and Leander is an mythological epic poem by Christopher Marlowe. It is a free and original tale about two ill-fated lovers. The characters inhabit a world of fancy. It was left unfinished at his death, and the single 'Sestiad' he completed was published in 1598. Continuations of the poem were published shortly thereafter, the most notable being that of George Chapman.
