Hesperos

- Henry Longfellow wrote an epic poem called The Wreck of the Hesperus. There is a large family of bats called Vesper bats in the family Vespertilionidae.
In Greek mythology, Hesperos (Greek Εσπερος (The Evening Star), Sometimes Latinized as Hesperus) was a son of Eos and Atlas or Astraios or Kephalos . His Roman equivalent was Vesper.
He is the personification of the evening star, the planet Venus.
He was the father of Ceyx, Daedalion and Leukone . He is aslo said to be the father of the Hesperides.
