Heterojunction bipolar transistor
The Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) is an improvement of the bipolar junction transistor (BJT) that can handle signals of very high frequencies up to several hundred GHz. It is common nowadays in ultrafast circuits, mostly radio-frequency (RF) systems.
