Higashi-yamato, Tokyo
Higashiyamato (東大和市; -shi) is a city located in Tokyo, Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 79,621 and the density of 5,880.43 persons per km². The total area is 13.54 km².
History
The city was established as Yamato Village on November 1, 1919, promoted to a town on May 3, 1954, and renamed as Higashiyamato on its promotion to a city, on October 1, 1970.
