Hindustan Aeronautics
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is a public sector undertaking aircraft company by the Government of India based in Bangalore, India. It built the first military aircraft constructed in the subcontinent and is currently involved in the design, fabrication and assembly of aircrafts, jet engines, helicopters and their components and spares. It has facilities that are located throughout India including Nasik, Korwa, Kanpur, Koraput, Lucknow, and Hyderabad.
The German engineer Kurt Tank designed the HF-24 Marut fighter-bomber, the first indigenously designed fighter aircraft constructed in India.
