Hiroshi Abe (actor)
Hiroshi Abe (阿部 寛 Abe Hiroshi, born June 22, 1964) is a popular actor famous for his charismatic character.
Abe was born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. Classified as a "maniac" actor, he stars in a range of fields, from comedy to horror and historical plays to the popular shows. He has an important part in Japanese entertainment, lead actor in TV shows, movies, starring in numerous commercials throughout the year. He is popular for his handsome face and style, along with his sense of humor. He is a 1988 graduate of Chuo University .

Biography
His debut was in March 1985, winning "Shueisha 3rd Nonno Boyfreind Champion". (He won the championship in one of the most popular magazines for Japanese female teenagers). With this, he started starring in "nonno" and "men's nonno". Especially, he was on the cover of "men's nonno" 43 consecutive times since its first issue.
He also starred in "Warratte iitomo" cool guy's section ("Warratte iitomo" the most popular show starting at noon which everyone in Japan knows). In his last year of college, he starred in a movie "haikara san goes the way"(haikarasan meaning "someone on the trend") which was his first step as an professional actor. From then on, he's taking part in the Japanese television, movies, stage dramas, and commercial indrustry as one of our best leading actors.
Though he was the ultimate guy of his time as a model, with the failing Japanese economy and many scandals, his transformation from a model to an actor was a hard start. But with his first stage and movie, he turned into one of our best leading actors.

Commercials With his popularity, he has been in many kinds of commercials, starting with toothbrushes to mansions. As of March 2004, he has been starring for VISA, Sekisui Chemical Industry, Johnson & Johnson, Glico(Gum), Sapporo Beer, Toyota, National, and many others. It has been noted that these commercials range from serious to comical, Daily Life Utilities to mansions and credit cards.
