Horsfield's Tarsier

Horsfield's Tarsier (Tarsius bancanus), also known as Western Tarsiers, are a species of tarsier. Like all tarisers, they have big eyes which help them see in the dark to capture their prey.

They can eat up to 10% of their body fat weight in one day. They also have a great sense of hearing and smell. Just one eye weighs more than any part of the body.

There are three recognized subspecies of Horfield's Tarsier:

  • Tarsius bancanus bancanus
  • Tarsius bancanus saltator
  • Tarsius bancanus borneanus
