Horta (Azores)
Horta is both a parish and a district in western part of the Azores.
The parish population in 2001 is around 6,500, its density is 29.3/km² and the area is 18.45 km².
The seat is located on the southeastern part of the Island.
Horta's major road encircles the island.
The population is 15,063 (2001) and the area is 169.94 km². The district includes the entire portion of the island of Faial. It is encircled almost entirely with the Atlantic Ocean except for the east. It is bordered by Madalena on the island of Pico to the east.
