Houston Gamblers

The Houston Gamblers were an American football team that competed in the United States Football League in 1984 and 1985.

The team played its home games at the Astrodome.

The Gamblers were coached by former NFL head coach Jack Pardee in both their seasons.

The most notable player on the team was future Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly.

Led by Kelly and employing the run-and-shoot offense, the Gamblers appeared in the playoffs in each of their two seasons, but suffered first-round defeats both times.

The team was to be merged with the New Jersey Generals for the 1986 season, but that season would never be played.

Team colors were black, red, and white.
