Hvalvatn
The lake Hvalvatn is situated some kilometers to the east of Hvalfjörður in the west of Iceland.
It is lying to the east of the volcano Hvalfell. Its surface is measuring 53 km/2, its greatest depth is 160 m.
Not far from Hvalvatn, there is the highest waterfall of the country, Glymur. Hiking trails lead to the lake and the waterfall.
