I, Jury (United Artists, 1953)
United Artists was quite anxious to bring Mike Hammer to the screen, impressed by the sales figures the books racked up. A four-picture contract was signed with Spillane. Filmed in 3-D, featuring Biff Elliot as Hammer, with Preston Foster and Peggie Castle .
Obviously, the plot was toned down for the film version. It grossed $1,299,000.
