  • Minutes to Fame was broadcasted on TVB, and now become a popular programme in Hong Kong.
  • Nashville Star, strictly country version
  • Popstars Live was the Australian follow-up to Popstars but had more in common with Australian Idol than the original Popstars series.
  • Nuevas Voces de América , a Spanish speaking version in Telemundo.
  • Kochav Nolad (A Star is Born) is the Hebrew version of the format broadcast in Israel. It is unknown by this wikipedian if it is a licensed adaptation or not.
  • Project Fame , a version on the South African satellite television station M-NET . It was a pan-African contest with "students" from Nigeria, Zambia, Kenya, and South Africa among other countries. The winner for the first edition of the program was from Zambia.
  • Een Ster in 40 Dagen , an Idol-like show in the Netherlands with only Shlager singers and music.
