Illinois River (Oregon)
The Illinois River is a tributary of the Rogue River, approximately 75 mi (120 km) long, in southwestern Oregon in the United States. It drains a mountainous area of the Coastal Range in the southwestern corner of the state.
It rises in southern Josephine County, in the Red Buttes Wilderness Area , near Whiskey Peak on the California state line, approximately 30 mi (48 km) southwest of Medford. It flows generally northwest in a winding course along the west side of the Klamath Mountains, past Kerby and through the Siskyou National Forest . It joins the Rogue River from the south on the Curry-Josephine county line, approximately 15 mi (24 km) from the Pacific Ocean.
