Illinois State Route 38
Illinois State Route 38 is a state road that runs from U.S. Highway 52 in downtown Dixon to U.S. Highway 12, U.S. Highway 20 and U.S. Highway 45 (Mannheim Road) in Hinsdale. This is a distance of about 90 miles (145 km).
The route beneath modern-day Illinois 38 was originally marked as an alternate to U.S. 30 , as U.S. 30A. As these highways fell out of favor and were decomissioned, 30A became 38 because they sounded similar.
In the Chicago area, Illinois 38 is called Roosevelt Road.
