Illinois State Route 5
Illinois State Route 5 is a four-lane road that runs from U.S. 67 in Rock Island, IL to the interchange of Interstate 80 and the toll-free portion of Interstate 88, a distance of about twenty miles (32 km). Before Interstate 88 was created in 1988, that road was designated as Illinois 5. East of the Sterling / Rock Falls area, it was known as Illinois 5 Toll.
Illinois 5 is the main road on the north bank of the Rock River, and serves the cities of Rock Island and Moline, IL.
