Imation Corporation
Imation Corporation is an American corporation, spin off from 3M, with a worldwide presence that produces mainly data storage products.
The company was established in Maplewood, Minnesota in 1996 when it spun off from 3M and moved its headquarters to Maplewood (a neighboring St. Paul suburb). The company originally comprised of 3M's data storage and imaging divisions; Imation has since sold its imaging and photographic film businesses to Kodak to concentrate on storage.
2,450 employees worldwide, including more than 300 scientists. Market presence in more than 100 countries with 54 percent of sales generated outside the US. 2003 Revenues: US$1.163 billion. The company's current CEO is William T. Monahan .
