Imperial Guard (comics)
The Imperial Guard is Marvel's pastiche of DC Comics's Legion of Super-Heroes. It has over twenty young members and is headed by Gladiator, a pastiche of Superboy. Most of the other characters are direct equivalents in super-powers and have similar details of costume design to the Legionnaires, but there are a number who differ widely. This team first appeared at its full roster so as to have a mighty battle with the X-Men at the Blue Area of the Earth's moon to bring the Dark Phoenix saga to a definitive conclusion.
