Indian National League

Indian National League an Islamic political party in India, mainly active in the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. INL is a splinter-group of Indian Union Muslim League. The party was formed 1993 (another source claims 1995) when Ibrahim Sulaiman Sait was expelled from IUML. Ibrahim Sulaiman Sait is today the INL president.

In Kerala INL has close relations with the Left Democratic Front. In the state assembly elections in 2001 INL launched one candidate, supported by LDF, in Tirur. The candidate, professor A.P. Abdul Vahab, received 45 511 votes (39,78%).

In the Tamil Nadu state assembly elections in 1996 INL was an ally of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, and won five seats.

In the Tamil Nadu state assembly elections in 2001 INL was an ally of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. In the 2004 Lok Sabha elections INL participated in a 'third front' in Tamil Nadu, led by Puthiya Tamizhagam .

In the Lok Sabha elections 2004 INL launched four candidates in West Bengal.

The youth wing of the party is called National Youth League.

The party is currently discussing a merger with IUML.
