Indo-Pacific languages
The Indo-Pacific super-family groups together several language families, mainly spoken in Papua New Guinea and nearby regions, which are not Austronesian, together with the native languages of Tasmania and the Andaman Islands. The language families within this super-family are:
- Amto-Musan languages
- Andamanese languages
- East Bird's Head languages
- East Papuan languages
- Geelvink Bay languages
- Kwomtari-Baibai languages
- Left May languages
- Sepik-Ramu languages
- Sko languages
- Tasmanian language
- Torricelli languages
- Trans-New Guinea languages
- West Papuan languages
This super-family is outlined in Merritt Ruhlen's A Guide to World's languages, but is not widely accepted.
