Inter partes
Legal proceedings to which all parties have been notified and given the opportunity to attend are referred to as inter partes ("between parties" in Latin) proceedings. Inter partes proceedings or hearings may involve two or more parties, and in these proceedings all parties have the right to be heard, e.g. to make submissions.
Contracts can also be said to be inter partes.
