Interstate 235

Interstate 235 is the name of three distinct interstate highway spur routes of Interstate 35 in the central United States: in Iowa, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

I-235 Iowa

In Iowa, Interstate 235 is a 13.8 mile-long bypass route in the Des Moines metropolitan area. At both its western and its northern terminus, I-235 connects with the junction of Interstate 35 and Interstate 80 (I-235 travels in a east-west direction before turning north-south east of downtown Des Moines), and it passes through the cities of West Des Moines, Windsor Heights and Des Moines. It is the only interstate highway that travels through downtown Des Moines; both Interstate 35 and Interstate 80 (which are co-designated through the northern Des Moines metropolitan area) do not pass through the city proper.

Interstate 235 in Iowa is also known as the MacVicar Freeway.

Interstate 235 in Iowa is currently under major reconstruction. Details can be found at I-235 Construction Iowa Department of Transportation

I-235 Kansas

Interstate 235 in Kansas is a 16.5 mile-long north-south bypass route that travels through the western part of Wichita. Its northern terminus is with Kansas State Highway 96 and its southern terminus is with Interstate 135 shortly before that roadway connects to Interstate 35 (here known as the Kansas Turnpike) at I-135's own southern terminus.

I-235 Oklahoma

In Oklahoma, I-235, also known as the Centennial Expressway, is a 5.4 mile-long north-south spur route in central and north-central Oklahoma City. It connects northbound to United States Highway 77 on to suburban Edmond and southbound at Interstate 44 on to Interstate 35/Interstate 40 at downtown Oklahoma City. After its junction with I-40, I-235 becomes Interstate 35.

I-235's route forms the eastern edge of the Bricktown Entertainment District in the eastern part of downtown Oklahoma City.
