Interstate 271
Interstate 271 is a major spur highway in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio and Akron, Ohio. The highway is officially designated the Cleveland Outerbelt, but rarely referred to by that name.
The highway runs from a junction with I-71 in Weymouth, Ohio to I-90 near Wickliffe, Ohio, intersecting I-480 (and running jointly with it for a short stretch). The width varies from point to point, but is mostly four to six lanes wide south of I-480 and eight to ten lanes wide, divided into express and local sections.
The express lanes begin at the complex I-480 and US-422 interchange continuing northward slightly beyond the end of I-271. Unlike the northbound express lanes, which allow access to all exits (excluding OH-175, a southbound-only exit), the southbound express lanes have only one combined exit for Chagrin Boulevard (east US-422), the recently built Harvard Road exit, Richmond Road (OH-175) and the I-480 and US-422 (west) interchange.
