The premise of war
- Provenly falsified claim of WMD
- Demonstrably unsupported claim of Iraq ties to Al Qaeda, and the September 11, 2001 attacks, claiming Iraq as a valid target War on Terrorism.
- Post-war shift from above claims to claim of "restoring freedom to the Iraqi people," which some now refer to as "messianic democracy."
Execution of war
- Heavy destruction upon civilian infrastructure (water, sewage, electricity)
- Heavy initial civilian casualties in Baghdad - (Civilians killed in Iraq )
- Casual or unprovoked killing ("Lighting up ") of civilian motorists at bridges and checkpoints, during early occupation
