Iron Chef America

Iron Chef America is a United States cooking show based on FujiTV's Iron Chef. This show is produced by Food Network. It is hosted by Mark Dacascos, who is introduced as the nephew of Takeshi Kaga, the original Japanese Chairman; however, this is just a plot to tie in the original to the American version.

On this version of the Iron Chef franchise, the Iron Chefs are Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, and the final Iron Chef Japanese from the original series, Masaharu Morimoto. Wolfgang Puck was an Iron Chef on the pilot episodes, called Iron Chef America: Battle of the Masters, but was replaced by Morimoto before production of weekly episodes began. Alton Brown, the star of the food network show Good Eats, serves as the main commentator. A fourth chef, Cat Cora, has also been elevated to Iron Chef status. She specializes in Greek and Aegean cuisine and is notable for being the first ever female Iron Chef.
