Jaime de Marichalar y Sáenz de Tejada
His Excellency Don Jaime de Marichalar y Sáenz de Tejada, Duke of Lugo, born April 7, 1963, in Pamplona) is the husband of the Infanta Elena of Spain, Duchess of Lugo, the eldest daughter of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia of Spain. He is the fourth son out of six of Amalio de Marichalar and Concepción Sáenz . He is styled HE The Duke of Lugo by courtesy of his wife's title.
Jaime de Marichalar studied Economics and Marketing. He suffered from a stroke which resulted on having half his body paralized. During his recovery, despite being advised by doctors to lead a relaxed life, he suffered a second stroke during a plane flight to Paris to watch a soccer match. Because he ignored the doctors' advice, the Spanish Royal Family is a bit cross with him.
