James Daly
James Daly (October 23, 1918-July 3, 1978) was an American actor. He is best known in film for his portrayal of Doctor Honorious in the original Planet of the Apes, and on television as the lead in the drama Medical Center.
Daly was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, and was the father of actress Tyne Daly. From 1947 to 1966, he also guest starred in several television series, among them Star Trek ("Requiem for Methuselah"), Mission Impossible, The Twilight Zone ("A Stop at Willoughby"), Gunsmoke, The Virginian, and Twelve O'Clock High.
James Daly’s last screen feature was as Mr. Boyce in the mini-series . Daly died shortly after the appearance, before the mini-series was released.
He died in Nyack, New York.
