Jane Dee Hull
Jane Dee Hull (born August 8, 1935) was the first elected female governor of the U.S. state of Arizona.
A Republican, she entered politics in 1978 by being elected to the State House and served two terms as Speaker there. Hull was then voted in as Arizona Secretary of State in 1994 and assumed the office of governor after the resignation of Fife Symington in 1997. She was elected in her own right in 1998. Her term ended in 2003 when current Governor Janet Napolitano assumed office after defeating Matt Salmon in 2002.
