Jeremy (song)

Jeremy is a song by Pearl Jam. One of their first singles, (released in 1991) the song concerns a boy, tormented by his peers and ignored by his parents, who shoots himself in front of his peers. The video was released in 1992 and is still considered by many to be one of the best, albeit disturbing, videos of its decade.

Following the release of the video, lead singer Eddie Vedder began boycotting videos, believing them to go against what the band was about. The band did not release another video until 1998's Do The Evolution .
