Jerry Trupiano
Jerry Trupiano is a radio sportscaster who is best known for his work as one of the two current announcers for the Boston Red Sox baseball team.
A native of Houston, Texas, Trupiano called play-by-play for the Houston Oilers of the NFL and Houston Astros before joining Joe Castiglione in the Red Sox broadcast booth in 1993.
Trupiano's signature home run call is "Swing and there it goes! WAY BACK! WAAAY BACK! HOME RUN!" He has earned the criticism of some Red Sox fans for applying the call to hits that turn out to be routine pop flies, getting their hopes up prematurely.
