Jim Otto

James Edwin Otto (b. January 5, 1938 at Wausau, Wisconsin) is an American football player. He played first for Win Brockmeyer at Wausau High School then at the University of Miami.

After graduation, Otto joined the Oakland Raiders of the American Football League. He played center for the Raiders for all ten seasons in which they were members of the AFL, one of only twenty men to play for the entire ten-year existence of the league. He then played five more seasons after the Raiders joined the NFL.

In 15 seasons, Otto played 210 regular season games. Including the pre-season, Otto played in 308 games. He never missed a contest although by the end of his career his knees would need to be replaced. Otto, also remembered for wearing the number 00, was an all-star in 12 of his 15 seasons. He was an AFL All-Star nine times, from 1961 through 1969, and a Pro Bowler from 1970 through 1972. He is a member of the All-Time All-AFL Team and the American Football League Hall of Fame.

Otto was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980, the first year he was eligible. Since 1995, he has worked for the Raiders in the department of special projects.
