Jim Ward (musician)
Jim Ward is probably best known as co-founder of the seminal post-hardcore band At the Drive-In.
While in the band, Ward mostly played guitar and sang backup vocals. He was also responsible for the piano and keyboard playing featured on some songs.
When At the Drive-In parted ways (due to creative differences) Jim Ward recruited most of the At the Drive-In members (apart from Omar and Cedric), added bassist Matt Miller, and formed the band Sparta.
After the release of an EP, Austere , and their first album, Wiretap Scars, Ward was on the way back to the top until the tragic loss of his cousin, Jeremy Ward.
Ward finally overcame this personal loss and used it as fuel for Sparta's second album, Porcelain.
