Jochem Uytdehaage
Jochem Uytdehaage (b. July 9, 1976 in Utrecht, Netherlands) is a Dutch long track speed skating champion.
He was the 2002 European champion all-round. During the 2002 Winter Olympic Games he won the gold medal in the 5,000- and 10,000-meter events and the silver in the 1,500-meter event. His winning time on the 10,000-meter was 12m58.92s, the first, and sofar only, time that a skater has broken the 13 minute barrier on this distance. His time on the 5,000-meter of 6m14.66s was also a worldrecord.
Uytdehaage led the long track speed skating Adelskalenderen in 2001 and 2002, and continues to lead in 2003, just ahead of Derek Parra (USA) who also improved his best times during the 2002 Olympic Games.
