Joe-Max Moore

Joe-Max Moore (born February 23, 1971 in Tulsa, Oklahoma) is a former American soccer forward, who last played for the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer.

Moore played college soccer at UCLA from 1990 to 1993. In 1994, he left the United States to pursue opportunities overseas, joining FC Saarbruecken in Germany, and later FC Nurnberg.

Moore's first stint with the Revs was between 1996 and 1999, during which time he became the club's all-time leading scorer. He returned to the Revolution in 2003, having spent the previous three years playing for Everton in the English Premiership, where he had a good deal of initial success, but had trouble finding any playing time in his later years. His playing time back in New England was limited by injuries as well. In his six years in MLS, Moore scored 41 goals and added 35 assists for 111 points, the assists and points being Rev records through the 2004 season.

Moore's first appearance for the US national team came against Canada on September 3, 1992. He played in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups and became the sixth US player to earn 100 caps, doing so against Poland.

On January 27, 2005, Moore announced his retirement from professional soccer. His 24 goals for the US ranked third in national history at the time of his retirement, behind Eric Wynalda and Brian McBride.
