John A. Young
John A. Young succeeded William Hewlett as president of Hewlett-Packard in 1977,and as chief executive officer in 1978.
He then held both these positions until 1990 when he was succeeded by Lewis Platt,and remained a director for a while thereafter.
Young received his bachelor's degree from Oregon State University in 1953, and an MBA from Stanford University.
