John Beverly Nichols
John Beverly Nichols (usually known as simply Beverly Nichols), was an English writer, playwright, actor, novelist and composer.
He was born on 9 September 1898, and died in 1983.
He went to school at Marlborough College, and went to Balliol College, Oxford University, and was president of the Oxford Union and editor of Isis .
His most successful book is Down the Garden Path , about gardening.
He wrote A Case of Human Bondage in 1966, about the marriage and divorce of William Somerset Maugham and Maud Gwendolen Syrie Barnardo, which was critical of Maugham.
He appeared in the 1931 film Glamour directed by Seymour Hicks and Harry Hughes playing the part of the Hon. Richard Wells.
He was a homosexual and had a long term partner.
