John Connolly

Bishop John Connolly (1750 - February 6, 1825), born in Ireland, was the second bishop of the Roman Catholic diocese of New York. He was ordained a priest on September 24, 1774 and ordained a bishop on November 6, 1814. He served as bishop of the diocese of New York from that date until his death. He is interred in the crypt under the altar of St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Another John Connolly is an Irish author whose best known novels revolve around former cop Charlie Parker. There are four so far: Every Dead Thing, Dark Hollow, The Killing Kind, and The White Road. His fifth novel, Bad Men, is set in Maine, and a book of ghost stories, Nocturnes, will soon be released.
