John Fleming
Writer born in Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland on 28th July 1950.
Contributed chapters on science fiction, special effects and stunting to the book "Anatomy of The Movies" (1983).
In 1996, he helped infamous British comedian Malcolm Hardee write his autobiography "I Stole Freddie Mercury's Birthday Cake" and in 1993, Fleming and Hardee co-edited the fiction anthology "Sit-Down Comedy" written by 19 British and Irish stand-up comedians.
In 2005, he advised on and edited Scottish comedienne Janey Godley's autobiography "Handstands in the Dark"
In the 1980s, he had been a researcher on British TV programmes such as cult kids' series "Tiswas"; peaktime ratings toppers "Game For a Laugh" and "Surprise! Surprise!"; and late-night chat show "The Last Resort With Jonathan Ross". His reputation was for finding and handling bizarre and sometimes 'difficult' comedy and variety acts - often 'real people' as opposed to professional performers..
