John Yoo
John Yoo is a professor of law at the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall), and is best known for his work from 2001 in the United States Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel. He contributed to the PATRIOT Act and to policies regarding torture, which would later be the source of controversy at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.
Yoo was a clerk for United States Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and has an A.B. from Harvard University (1989) and a J.D. Yale University (1992).
