Jolly Rancher
The Jolly Rancher Candy Company was founded in 1949 in Golden, Colorado. The first products were chocolate, ice cream, and hard candy, all sold at the Jolly Rancher. Because of its increasing popularity, Jolly Rancher moved to Wheat Ridge, Colorado, in 1951. In 1966, it was sold to Beatrice Foods . In 1983, Huhtamaki Oy bought Jolly Rancher, and later sold it to Hershey Foods Corporation in 1996. Today, the name Jolly Rancher is most commonly associated with a small rectangular shaped hard candy that comes in several fruit flavors.
