Jonathan Levinson

Jonathan Levinson is a fictional character in the U.S. television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, played by Danny Strong.

The character of Jonathan has been present since quite early in the show. (He-- or at least a character with similar demeanor also played by Danny Strong-- appeared in the unaired pilot for the show.) He was always portrayed as shy, difficult, and socially isolated, with resulting problems. For example, in the season three episode "Earshot ", he came close to committing suicide, while in season four's "Superstar", he used magic to alter the history of the world and make himself a superhero. Possibly his best moment, involved his presentation of the 'Class Protector' award to Buffy at the senior prom following a suprisingly honest and revealing speech during which it became clear that some Sunnydale students actually realised Buffy existed.

Most of Jonathan's episodes occurred in season six, where he was a reluctant member of the Trio crime gang, which has been nicknamed 'Troika' among fans. However, troubled by the increasingly evil behaviour shown by his two confederates, Andrew and Warren, he eventually switched sides and helped save Buffy's life.

Jonathan was killed in season seven by Andrew, who was under the influence of The First Evil masquerading as Warren.
