José Silva (parapsychologist)
José Silva (1914–1999) was a parapsychologist and author of "The Silva Method" and "UltraMind ESP System" to help people increase their IQ, develop psychic skills, and develop the ability to heal themselves and others remotely using forces unknown to science (see: alternative medicine).
Born in Laredo, Texas, he was orphaned at the age of four and never went to school. In 1928, he opened a radio repair shop in Laredo. An encounter with an army psychiatrist (he was drafted in 1944) spurred his interest in parapsychology.
