Josie and the Pussycats
Josie and the Pussycats are a fictitious rock band created by Dan DeCarlo.
They have been featured in a number of different media since the 1960s:
- a comic book produced by Archie Comics (1963-1982).
- a Saturday morning cartoon series (1970-1972) produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, who also produced a spin-off series ( Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space, 1972-1974).
- a short-lived bubblegum pop music group that recorded songs for both the show and a Capitol Records LP in 1970.
- a live-action motion picture, which was released in 2001.
