Julian Casablancas
Julian Casablancas was born on August 23 1978 and is the lead vocalist of the band The Strokes. Julian is the son of the founder of Elite Model Management John Casablancas and Miss Denmark 1965 Jeanette Christjansen. His parents divorced when he was young and he attended boarding school at Institute Le Rosey and later on at Dwight School in New York City. He met his first band member Albert Hammond Jr. at Le Rosey, and when he transferred to Manhattan's elite Dwight School, it was there he met the rest of the group, Nick Valensi, Nikolai Fraiture and Fabrizio Morretti. He is referred to in the title of Courtney Love's song, "But Julian, I'm a little older than you".
He married Juliet Joslin on February 5, 2005.
He writes all of The Strokes music, with one exception: he shares song writing credits on the third song "Automatic Stop", from their second release, ROOM ON FIRE.
